Spot weld drill bits are made from high speed steel cobalt, this hard steel runs 100% through the drill bit, this allows for re-sharpening and a longer drill bit life.
These spot weld drills are sharpened to a flat with a small central raised tip to locate in the centre of the spot weld, this guides the drill and means that no centre punching is required.
Drilling tips-
Suitable to use in any standard drill.
Do not use in impact drills.
Set the drill machine to the lowest speed possible and gradually increase the speed until the drill bit cuts cleanly through the spot weld.
